The future of radio imaging

Given that anybody who makes a bad prediction in public is forever reminded of their folly, I’m surprised the Radio Academy has managed to persuade so many otherwise sensible radio production people to stick their necks out on Thursday night.

So no, I don’t know what the future will be like either, but if you can be in Manchester on Thursday night you might just get some clues.

The Radio Academy’s North West branch is organising an evening dedicated to the art of radio imaging, past, present and yes… future. Some of the names taking part include Simon Hirst from Galaxy Yorkshire, Chris Stevens of TM Studios and GMG, Simon Prentice from S2Blue and Alasdair Stirling, the head of production at Radio City.

Doors open at 6.30pm at the BBC on Oxford Road, Manchester. Apparently it’s free with no registration required. Quite what the BBC security guys will make of that only adds to the excitement. Full details on the Radio Academy website.
