Radio promotion, marketing and imaging

And now for something completely different

After spending the best part of fifteen years working in radio promotions, navigation and presentation I’m changing.

By the end of the summer I’ll be the BBC rep for West and Southern Africa. The map shows the territories in which I’ll be working – basically, the English, Hausa and Portugese-speaking countries.

This role sees me take responsibility for building digital, mobile and broadcast audiences through partnerships, new content and better distribution in this diverse and challenging part of the world. It’s incredibly exciting, and a little scary.

I’ll be working with radio and tv stations, mobile operators, web portals and aggregators and ISPs. No doubt I’ll learn a lot and will do my best to share some of it through the Earshot blog.

Wish me luck. I’m off to buy something from Amazon.
